Meet Dr. Alka Panwar
Dr. Alka Panwar is a board-trained periodontist and implant specialist who is proud to be part of the team at NOVA Implant & Perio Specialists, serving patients in Sterling, Leesburg, and Aldie, Virginia.
Originally from Haryana, India, Dr. Panwar earned her Bachelor of Dental Surgery from SGT Dental College Hospital & Research Institute and practiced as a general dentist before continuing her advanced training in the United States. She completed her Periodontal and Implant training at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine, where she also earned a Master of Dental Science degree. During her training, Dr. Panwar was actively involved in teaching, academic presentations, and clinical research. She further expanded her expertise through a one-year Periodontics–Prosthodontics fellowship.
Dr. Panwar is dedicated to providing high-quality periodontal and implant care in a setting that is comfortable, respectful, and compassionate. She performs both surgical and non-surgical periodontal procedures, always tailoring treatment plans to each patient’s unique needs and long-term oral health goals.
Giving back to the community is an important part of Dr. Panwar’s philosophy. She has participated in multiple volunteer initiatives, including dental outreach programs, public health camps, and blood donation drives.
Outside of the office, Dr. Panwar enjoys reading history, cooking, running, and staying active.
